A diving suit is part of every diver's basic equipment – and needs to be thoroughly cleaned and dried after every dive. If moisture remains, unpleasant odours and mould growth threaten, regardless of the material used, such as neoprene, lycra or nylon.
A few tried-and-tested basic rules
- Hang upright on a drying rack so that air can circulate from the inside
- Turn the suit inside out before drying
- Avoid direct sunlight, as it damages the material
- Never dry in a tumble dryer
- Hang from bottom to top so that water can drain off well
